The Neighborhood Coalition uses best practices research and lobbying to influence public policies that affect neighborhood livability. We also advise one another on how to address local concerns. And, we’re promoting an ongoing civic dialog on neighborhood livability.
Priorities for 2017 include:
- Establishing a university district to concentrate campus-related development in adjoining mixed use zones, while protecting the character of nearby residential neighborhoods
- Revising the noise ordinance to lower decibel levels in residential zones and create a standard for mixed use zones
- Incorporating the concept of compatibility zones around residential neighborhoods into city code
- Promoting a review of the city charter to update the structure of city governance
